Hi all,

I just got a Olympus OM-4 and wanted to know how is the
best way to get the advance lever removed, does that top cap
pop off or unscrew?

It unscrews (but I'm basing it on my knowledge of the om1 and om10)

Are you intending to remove the top cover to fix something? If so, I would advise against it. It is easy to damage/tear the circuit board under the top cover when removing it (or replacing it) unless you really know what you are doing. If you damage/tear the circuit board, you will be left with a nice looking paperweight, as no replacement boards are available.

Nope, just to get to the bearing under the advance lever.

The cap pops off, there is a weak adhesive keeping it in place.

Oldest OM-4 wind lever caps unscrew. Ones that have been serviced may have a plastic cap glued on over a large screw. John
