Hi there, I purchased an Olympus Pen D recently and got a Pen D hood for it as well. I slipped on the hood and realised that through the viewfinder, I can see the hood at the bottom right part of the viewfinder. Just a couple of questions about this, is this normal or did I get the wrong hood? Also, being very new to this, would the obscured viewfinder affect the pictures, as in would the part of the hood appear in my pictures after developing? Thank you so much in advance. = )

Hi
Seem to think this is pretty normal for the PenD hood - I have the similar situation. Will make no difference to your photos because you aren't obscuring the taking lens - a bit inconvenient but you will soon get used to it. I used my PenD without a hood for many years and was very happy with the results.
It's a really nice little camera that I loved to use until I had to wear reading glasses - enjoy it.

Hi jesse1dog, thank you very much for the reply and the information. It is almost impossible trying to find information about it even on the internet.

So if it really is supposed to be this way, then I guess I have to get used to it. Thank you for sharing your experience with me, I just had to make sure that it wasn't going to mess up the pictures taken with this beautiful camera. = )
