Question for the experts: Is it possible to turn the focus scale through 180 degrees so I have the numbers on top and visible? I mean, really, I'm not a kid. Quite frankly, the metres scale is more meaningful to me than the stupid pictures. And is it possible at the same time to remove the detents to make a smooth scale? I found that I was taking a lot of shots between 1.5 and 3 metres this morning. Not difficult to set an intermediate focus distance, but it would be nice if the Trip admitted it's a more serious and capable camera than it pretends.

Don't know about turning the focusing ring 180°, but the clickstops can be removed, and are normally as soon as you open up the lens, you'll lose the very small ball bearing that actuates the click stops.

If I opened it up, any number of small but vital parts would go sproing. With bike fettling, they are known onomatopoeically as ping****its. :D

You might put the question to Stewart Duffy (stewartduffy at gmail dot com) of streetshooters.co.uk fame.

He'll know ALL about the Trip and if you're in Europe he might change the Trip to your liking
