Does anybody use the Olympus VF-1 viewfinder on their rangefinder cameras? I am thinking of getting one and using it for a 35mm lens. Opinions?

Half Frame Goodness
i have one and i used it on my m4 before, it works perfectly with the 35mm framelines on it. i would reckon it would work perfectly with a M3 without its 35mm framelines.

Thick Hot Shoe
The hot shoe on the Olympus viewfinder is thicker then standard. You will need to sand the foot a little to fit non-Olympus cameras. For the same reason standard Voigtlander viewfinders are a little loose on the Olympus. I usually have to add a layer of tape so they will not fall off.

I still have one and it works well on my leicas. No foot adjustment required. Disadvantages: protrudes backwards, and no parallax correction lines. Advantages: works well as a 28 finder, too (full view).
