I have an XA that I picked up a few months ago at an estate sale. I've run a few rolls through it without a hitch, but something disturbing happened on the last one. About half way through the roll the advance stopped working. Instead of moving the film forward it clicked and spun free. I was able to rewind OK and saved the 1st half of the roll, but I notice now that there is slippage in the take-up reel.
Has anyone heard of this problem before? If it's easy to fix I might try it myself. If not, I guess I'm in the market for another XA.
Thanks

Yes, I have had that problem. IIRC, the problem is due to a gear that fails due to age, and it is not that uncommon. It is a plastic part, I think. John Hermanson fixed mine by using a parts XA, as he did not have the gear available as a spare part.
stupid leica
i don't shoot rf
haha, this is the XA i just got... it is kinda funny to load it, i was having trouble as the advance was kinda slipping until i closed the door. It seems to advance ok so far though.
