I just got my first Rangefinder. An Olympus XA. The problem is that the sprocket is stuck somehow. I could release the shutter once but now I can`t wind the film. Anyone has experience with that? Should I put the camera apart and try to fix it or just send it back to the guy I bougth it?

So, when there's no film in the camera, it will not wind and fire? Or, it is wound and it won't fire. Could be dead batteries, or oily magnet. Very hard to diagnose this way. John, ww.zuiko.com

I went to the Leica Store in Vienna and asked them to repair it. They told me that the magnet release or something like that is broke. Because of lack of repair parts I will just send the camera back to the guy I bought from. Hope that I ll get my money back.

I don`t have luck with analog cameras. I bought a Praktica and shot 2 films and now it s broke. Now even worse with the Oympus XA.
I m just about to sell all my digital stuff just to shoot analog. Maybe I should rethink that?

I guess that I ll have to buy a Leica next time. $$$

Thanks for you help.
