OM, I've become a Zuikoholic!

There are lots of aftermarket lens choices. Vivitar, Tokina, Cosina, Kiron. Sears, JC Penney and Montgomery Wards even had lenses.

Third party aftermarket lenses are not too popular now since the original Zuiko OM lenses are so cheap and easy to find.

Very few aftermarket lenses were up to the quality of Zuiko, but some were. And a handful were maybe even better.
 
My 'German Edition' OM2 came today, what a beauty part from a little wear on the battery chamber its near mint looking. My delight when turning her to manual and seeing a match needle display and I was in heaven. Why can't my AE1 or other auto manual cameras have that. I shot a roll looking around a new housing estate they are building this afternoon and all works as it should. I developed the film along with one I used to test the OM20 (separate pots) and that worked just like it should. It is not as nice as the OM1/2 though, but I guess that is to be expected with it being a lower range camera. I also bought an OM40 with Tokina 35-70 as well, I will have lots of spares and I am getting a bit of GAS with them, alas I can not afford the OM3/4 pairing. Then to cap off my good day I got the grade for the first module of my MA and its a good grade.

The one third party lens that I will never sell is the (Tokina made) Vivitar Series I 90/2.5.

BTW, I also have Tokina ATX 80-200/2.8 and 100-300/4. They are very good.

If the Tokina lens you mention is the ATX 35-70 / 2.8, it might be a keeper 🙂

I think an MFA mostly involves you actually making art to complete a thesis project. I'm about done with an MA in History, and I have about 400 pages of reading a week and I only take 2 classes at a time! Its been hard for me, even though I read fast and have a good memory for things I read. Hard to fit all that reading in when I have to earn a living too and care for my son by myself. Been worth it though. I won't get a job from it, the degree is worthless for that, as is an MFA. Its something you do because you want to become an educated person.

filmfan, I concur - the second one is great. I wish we had snow in South Africa (in places other than the tops of the highest mountains)... You use the 28/2.8 to great effect.
