What started with a purchase of two OM-2N bodies, 2 x 50mm Zuiko lens and half a dozen 3rd party zoom lens has now turned into the following:
3 x OM-2N (1 Black) + 3 winders
2 x OM-2 (1 Black) + 2 winders
24mm 2.8
28mm 3.5
28mm 2.8
35mm 2.8
100mm 2.8
135mm 2.8
75-250mm f5
85-250mm f4
200mm f4
2 x 50mm 1.8
50mm 1.4
50mm 3.5
The above are all Zuiko lens.
Oh, yes, I also have to admit to a om-2s on the way.
Coming from a Nikon F100 & F5 background, I really do love this OM system, price, ease of use, availability, size, etc
It makes the 8 x 3rd party zoom lens all rather redundant at this stage.....
There's a Zuiko 300 missing in your collection; as we are shamelessly plugging anyway, there's a very nice one in the classifieds. You can't make it yourself for that price

You know my 50 F1.4 is just shy of 1.1 million serial number. I can't help feeling like I'm five cents short of a bus ticket when I read your lens descriptions Afenvy!
(Just kidding). I know I wouldn't be able to pick the diff' in a photo.
BTW, Real nice pics.

I was out shooting my OM2 over the weekend and finding that i prefer 28mm over my usual 50mm, I put it down to old age.
Every time i look into that viewfinder I'm amazed how large, clear and bright it is, truely amazing.
Was wondering if there are any other cameras with viewfinders like that?

When I first brought my Nikon D2HS up to my eye I had to pull it away sharpish. I thought I was going to fall into it

Konica T4 is not bad, and the (modern) Bessa Voigtlander SLRs are the equal.

Have a OM2N plus 50/1.8 on its way from a RFF member. Looking forward to it - my first SLR was a Elan 7e, so I've never had a manual-focus SLR.

modern Bessa Voigtlander SLRs ? Do these exist ? I thought Voigtlander (Cosina) only makes RF-cameras these days ?

I'm sure the Bessa rangefinder cameras with the 1:1 viewfinders must be very good ... what about the Epson rd-1 or a Leica with a .85 finder?

They made a small run of M42 mount cameras - i think it was bessamatic or something like this.
Btw - I have an offer for Zuiko 35 f2 - it's MC and there's japan on it, so i guess it's late version. Read some reviews and everybody seems to think it's a bad lens - my question how bad

The 35/2 is big compare to other OM lens, if you need the speed you dont have a choice, just give it a shot
Filter size is 55mm IIRC.
The Pentax MX has a tiny bit smaller viewfinder but similarly bright and pleasant to use.

Read some reviews and everybody seems to think it's a bad lens - my question how badI know it wont be razor wide open, but what about after 2.8 ? Tried the 35 2.8 - it's small but 2.8 seems to dark for most situations. Also is the lens that big ? The front element seems rather large for zuiko but can't find any pics attached to OM body on the net ..
It depends on what your expectations are.
Olympus' efforts in the 35mm focal length lag a bit behind their counterparts in the next major step (i.e. 28/2 and 50/2 which are both top shelf lenses) but are fine compared to the efforts of other makers in the same focal length.
of course, you may get it and decide it's particular style suits you just fine. I like a lot of music most people think is questionable; similarly some people just like certain lenses that other people dont give much credit to.
if you can get a good price and you want it, why not get it?

One of the advantages of the OM system is the size, so that's what really bothers me. I'm not rly going to count pixels and sharpness is not everything
Could anyone post pics of that lens mount on OM ? or how it compared to say - 50 1.4 .. The lens is on internet site so i can't see it personally, and i don't like returns
