OM, I've become a Zuikoholic!

Another OM user since February of 74, still have it. Have completed my Zuiko lens selection 10 years ago, although I occasionally pick up some third party lens if cheap. Last one was a rather pedestrian Tamron 135 f2.5 adaptall II for $15, Reasonably fast and will focus to 4 feet, most 135's only focus to 5 feet. That dosent seem like a huge difference on paper but in practice it's a nice feature. Only other non Zuiko lens is a Sigma 50 f2.8 macro that will focus to 1:1, again, because it was only $25 I could not resist.

Maybe we can start a club of '74.
There must be more of us :)

OM1, 1.2/50mm Zuiko, FP4+, Ilfosol 3 (1+14)

The backstory to this image can be read on my blog by clicking here.

All in all I think it's going to be a perfect first film camera for her, and maybe one day, she'll find herself broke on the curb with a BP OM3Ti and a 50/1.2...
The first hit is always free!
Dear RFF, I think I may have created a monster....

The OM707 turned out to be a great first camera for Malin, and she's been using it a lot. The Sigma lens was to big however, so she lent my more portable 50/1.8, with which she has been producing (imho) amazing pictures!

I think a 50mm was a great first lens for her, since she's mostly doing portraits. Of course now I have to do a lot of modeling for her, which is quite unaccustomed for one who has been mostly on the other side of the lens.

Here are a few of hers (with permission to post):

She got tired of the glitching battery door, and asked me to help her find another camera. She wanted to stay with the OM system (not by my convincing, but by researching on her own!), so I suggested a OM2n, or a OM4 if she wanted to splurge.
Once she has her mind set, she just goes, and eventually she turned up a nice looking OM4Ti - champagne - on the fleabay, so I let her borrow my Gixen account, and the camera should be arriving early this week, just in time for our vacation roadtrip!

I still don't know if I should be happy or afraid tough, she might just end up abandoning me for a handsome stranger with a Hasselblad H6D.....

This is getting out of hand: 9x OM-1

If you want to get rid of one of those, I can pass my Address :p

My OM-1 has been sitting idle and jammed for a while and I want to arrange a CLA.

Two months ago I saw a listing for an OM2 with a 50mm for 30€. Idiot me to pass it up as I was academically busy. Keeping track of new listings.

I thought I'd leave 35mm aside but I've been too naïve. I did grab a cheap Nikon F80 and it is fun, but the Prime experience still is in OM.

Thanks, but I use them all the time and they are rotated from time to time.

If it's a self timer jam, it's easy to unjam, but I don't know how to fix it permanently (other than a service).

Began as such and probably related.
I retookit from storage and tried to see again. Back when it jammed heavily I took out the bottom plate to see, and there's a little lever that moves when cocking, pivoting when actioning the shutter but it does not return all the way to the initial position. The shutter button remains soft and I can see that the lever cannot be released as it does not catch.

I have seen though that running the selftimer does let me shoot and wind, but afterwards the button remains soft.

Was looking to send it out to one of the UK based repairers.

I bought it CLA'd in '08 but probably the Fall temperatures of Sweden and the craze of NYC didn't help it! After a couple weeks of sitting idle, suddenly jammed... Last actuation was with a cable release, which I don't know to what extent may have done something.

Look what showed up in the mail Friday! Two pounds of my favorite coffee and an OM 4TI. 'll have plenty of energy to put it through its paces this weekend.
