To Light & Love ...
Helen, you probably wouldn't like it.
probably TRUE...no one gets the revolution they want
Look at the French...enough said...they got Robespierre and off with the head...
I do Think this Country needs a swift kick up the Backside
We no Longer Manufacture...Corporate America Rules
we owe more than we can produce...we waste more Time on
polarizing conservative /progressives
than a True Common Cause
For ALL People
enough banter on my Part
best for me to shoot (pictures)

Yes, I don't know what the libel is, but I will stand for the character assassination. Callous action(?) this country is broke.

Sensible banter Helen, and the French revolution was one of the oppressed revolting to soon become the oppressors.

So, tell the Democrats to change the rules, they always do. Have you ever heard of individual responsibility, smaller government and free markets? Probably not, so move to France.
Individual responsibility doesn't work in a world where individuals have so little control over their own lives. Sorry, I've seen too many people work hard, get educated, play by the rules only to be kicked in the teeth. No one achieves what he has on his own. EVER. Every single person who has succeeded in life has done so though the help of others. The problem is, Americans are too greedy and stupid to help each other; we're not a nation, we're a gaggle of peasants, each frightened to death, God forbid, that they might have to give up something to help their neighbor so that everyone can live decently.
Look at immigrant groups that come here dirt poor and succeed quickly. I'm thinking of eastern European Jews, Indians and Pakistanis, Chinese. All these groups came here poor, not speaking English, often hated by Americans based on their race.
All of them, on average, are now wealthier groups than anglo Americans. Why? People often cite work ethic. Yep; they worked very hard, but hard work isn't enough and they knew it. All those immigrant groups helped members of their own group. It isn't about the individual, its about the community.
When some became prosperous, they made an effort to hire immigrants from their home countries so they'd have jobs. They pooled their money to start businesses so that more of their people could be employed, they helped each other go to school. They made an effort to buy from each other's businesses. Mexicans are beginning to do this stuff too.
The idiotic individualism of the anglo american is sinking him into poverty while his parasitic leaders who don't give a damn about their own people suck his blood. Meanwhile, our immigrant friends know what a real nation and a community is: one where everyone co-operates to ensure the prosperity of all, not just a few. Keep squabbling and running each other down. The parasite class likes it that way.

I use to live in Marietta. Hard to imagine there are no jobs at all in the Atlanta area as huge as it is. I feel for you Dave & especially for your wife being so sick. I only hope congress turns things around soon.

This is in response to Chris:
Tell, the (our) government that, go to South America, any country (rule of the few), and you will see educated people working below their level. I definitely agree 'Americans' (USA citizens) are too greedy but that may very quickly end. We have had a good run and it may be over.

Do you really think Congress can turn things around?

There were many things facing cuts which were in that bill. Hopefully they'll do the right thing soon.

Lots of jobs, just they're all filled and millions more around the country need jobs too. Where I live even the fast food places and other crap jobs have stopped hiring completely.

David, I'm sorry to hear about your plight. Having been in similar dire straights during my life my best advice to you is to try, somehow, to remain as positive as you can be under the circumstances. It took time, and I hit rock botton, but eventually rebounded. The same will happen for you. I will refrain from blasting the party of McCarthyism; the senseless Iraq war; stopping funding or allowing access to stem cells from fertility clinics; "birthers"; Sarah Palin; "Teabaggers"; AM hate-jock radio; Fox "News"; Nixon; K-Street Scandal; Gramm-Leach-Bliley 1999 (which removed the restrictions on banks engaging in risky investment banking activities put in place after the Depression, thus clearly enabling the current global financial crisis); homophobia; xenophobia; ignoring the overwhelming evidence and science that supports climate change in favor of "hand waving" to the detriment of our future; anti- sensible gun control legislation; anti-evolutionists, "intelligent design" taught in science class; acting as obstructionists for political gain instead of improving out 37th ranked health care system that results in 60% of all personal banruptcies, 20% of the nation having no coverage, and 35% of men aged 20-29 to not have coverage; turing a budget surplus into an historic deficit while giving tax breaks to the wealthiest 1%-ers via their unethically slanted taxation policy; a failed anti-terrorism policy that was exposed on Sept. 11, 2001; "The Southern Strategy"; Birchers; religious zealots; and militias... other than to say "typical". They're on the wrong side of every issue and place their failed ideologies above reason - it's what defines them. Others pay the price. Sadly and clearly you're among those paying the price for their failed and stupid ideologies currently, but have faith - you will rebound.

You really should move someplace else (another country), you are just not a happy person living in the United States.

Standard conservative response. Good thing the founding fathers didn't take such advice. They fought for what was right, they were unhappy, they talked about it, they complained, they fought and they changed the world.

LOL. Well thankfully I don't depend on these people for a job, my income is 100% from out of state sources. So, when the last conservatard Hoosier loses his job and home after a lifetime of cheerleading for the bloodsucker class as it took everything he had, I'll probably be here to laugh at the poor ******* before i turn the lights out and follow him out the door.

For some, cultural identity is the foundation of nationhood, although that was not the intent of America's founders. That drives much of the illogical behavior that sees people voting against their own economic interests. They are voting for politicians who promise to help them do battle against the forces they see attacking their culture. As a result, you get people electing politicians who rant about gays, God, and guns, government, and all the rest, and then give tax breaks to corporatists who outsource jobs and close plants.
And what's so bad about France? Vive Admiral de Grasse!

Bear with me but I need to vent and have no other outlet at this point. I have even written my ******* Congressman with no reply! **** politicians!
As some of you know, at this very moment, I stand at 18 months of unemployment; savings gone; my wife's health has just taken a serious turn for the worse; still cannot find anyone to hire me even with advanced degrees and a 39-year work experience history in civil engineering/architecture/city planning/teaching at university, etc.; and now my wife's meager income and insurance is in jeopardy. I have sold everything I own including my only transportation, my bicycle, in the last months to pay rent.
And NOW, I just find out from CNN.com and verified from the State certification website that unemployment benefits run out on Feb. 28 (2 days from now) because the ******* Congress, the Senate, primarily a ******* Republican from Kentucky has stopped the approval process and now 5 million recipients are without a lifeline!
I... just...don't... know... what... to... (sigh...)
Well, I feel your pain, but I've been out of work for 15 months myself, and didn't get ONE THIN DIME of unemployment.
The lesson I learned, NEVER work as a 1099 contractor.
I remember in the old days, UI was 6 months, then nothing. Consider yourself lucky you got an extension or two. (I know I sound harsh, I'm very frustrated with things myself. I'm maybe a month or two from where you are financially. I recently started selling camera equipment, so you know I'm getting desperate.)

Another thread that will deteriorate into insipid left vs. right bashing. 'Conservatard?'
The problem is Washington and the people running it.
We fix it by getting rid of the entire lot of them.
Congress is at 10% approval. 10%! A landslide election is 60/40; we are talking 90/10 here.
Washington doesn't create jobs, entrepreneurs and small business do. Business sucks and employers aren't hiring because they are getting NOTHING out of Washington that gives them any sort of confidence. Washington does not understand business; Washington is in fact anti-business. THIS is the problem.

Oh, and Dave, come to Texas. Business is reasonably good here, because we value business and entrepreneurship. Best of luck.
