As earlier said, I was surprised how little Nepal has changed since then. Well, Kathmandu did, and Pokhara, but little bit out of the cities and into the hills Nepal seems little changed. That said, last time I was in Nepal was 2014, but I used to go there every year ( for business ) since early 1990s and had visited first 1983. One thing I disagree, about the simple food, the Dal Bhat, that is rice and lentil soup. For me it's is great food! Similar to Beans and Tortillas in Mexico, Dal and Chapati in India, or pretty much anywhere I consider legumes and ( possibly whole grain ) grains to be the most common, simple, but also ecological, social and healthy food, I love it! One point worth taking: the path until the last airport from where to hike up towards Mount Everest was the more interesting culturally and enjoyable, from that point, to where most tourist fly, up, the atmosphere changed. - If interested in the people and culture, as visitor, it's often worthwhile to go to less known or less popular places!
