You will see more than what will get caught in the negative.
It all comes down to "angle of view". A 50mm MF lens covering 6x9 is roughly equivalent to 28mm on a 35mm lens, with an angle of view of about 75-80 degrees (this depends highly on the lens maker and the specifications put on the lens design).
So, with your viewfinder, you may have 80 degrees of angle of view, but if your camera is carrying a 105mm lens, the negative will capture around 45 degrees of angle of view.
In other words, the negative will only have about half (more or less the center) of the image that you see through the viewfinder.
