sometimes, i just don't make sense to me.

in the past i have had and sold various short tele lenses for my rangefinders.
the last couple were a rokkor 90, a hex 90 and the cv 75. sold them all as they never got used.

i just arranged to buy a nearly new in box rokkor 90/4 so that i could have a complete cle kit.

doubtful that i will ever learn...

Makes perfectly good sense to me, Joe. You didn't buy it because you expect to use it, you bought it because you're a completist. Happens all the time to collectors of all types. I fall into the same trap myself. Except that I don't have the willpower that you do to be able to later sell things and instead end up holding onto everything whether I ultimately use it or not!

Hey Joe,

breaking up with a woman doesn't mean you cann't hook up with her sister ! :)

Having two short teles, now that would be crazy !!!

Cheers,

Roland.

I'm a hot dog, inside a burrito, wrapped in a pancake.

Sorry Bill, but that makes me think of Pigs in a Blanket...

I know what you mean Joe, I have a 90mm Rokkor, which I used once. I don't sell it because I know I'd be looking for the Hexanon 90 to replace it.

So your saying a 9cm/4 Uncoated Elmar to go with the Leica III, a 9cm F4 coated to go with the IIIf, and a collapsible Elmar 9cm/4 for the M3 is too much...

The three lenses together were under $200. I know THAT was not too much.

I'm worse. Don't even try to comprehend it. I probably have more 50s than half the active members here. Combined.

Do you think twelve 5cm F1.4 Nikkors is too many...

12 of the same lens?

holy jumping jehosaphat!

i feel bad having 2 of the same focal length (but i have learned to live with it)

As the guy looking through the plant used to say, "Very interesting, but foolish". I did exactly the same thing when I got my CLE years ago and searched until I found a good 90 and bought it.

I NEVER put it on the camera. And now I've sold the CLE and still have the 90.

Will we never learn, or grow up, or something?

Congrats, Joe... And I agree with Randy in post#3 :)

Now, to be "complete", do you have the dedicated CLE flash unit? The correct CLE sidegrip? The CLE carry bag? There could still be room for more shopping to come.

Roland,

I was trying to read between your lines, but then I gave [wisely] up! :D

Yes; one too many. So if you ever feel like .... [you know the rest] :D

oh lord, i hope not!

i once had the flash and the leather bag and i'm embarrased to admit that i actually used that bag for a while.
i also had 2 complete sets of cameras and lenses.

mine is an old affliction.

You're already thinking about selling the CLE...

You're already thinking about selling the CLE...

As one poster said, you are a completist. There's an underlying reason for being one of those. You may be operating on the assumption that when you sell the CLE (as you are subconsciously planning at this very moment) you have the misquided thought that you will get more money for a complete kit.

Nothing could be further from the truth (other than truly collectable cameras). There are usually more people looking for pieces than complete kits. I make quite a bit of money buying kits and parting them out.

Good luck on the sale of your CLE.

BTW... I have never used a short tele, so I know there is no reason to own one except for resale.:D
