So a while back I received a 28mm Ultron from eBay. I've noticed that in the back of the lens there is a piece of debris, I'm not exactly sure what it is. It's about 3x0.5mm, definitely not dust. The lens is nearly as new, and doesn't show signs that it has ever been opened up.

Now I'm trying to figure out what to do. Is it easy enough to open up this lens by myself and get the little piece out or do I really need a repairman?

Any tips / experiences are welcome. Thanks.

Since nobody yet has given any answer this may help you:

I don't own the Ultron but looking e.g. at my CV 4/21 and at photos of the Ultron I'd think that opening them up will start similarily:

at front first lens is fixed via a "ring" that may have ( as on my 4/21 ) two notches for a spanner tool, if they are not there a "friction tool" will be required for unscrewing it
to open from the rear the whole rear lens group can be unscrewed, no tool required but strong fingers and e.g. a cloth that gives friction for better grip, see the 4/21 ( arrow points of the full housing of the rear group that most likely can be removed. to the right of the arrow one can see one of the 2 notches of the retaining ring of the single rear lens, same as should be present around the single front lens. Chances that the debris will be behind the single rear lens is minor = most likely not necessary to open that ring )

My two yen... it won't affect your images at all so I recommend to not mess with your lens and just leave the debris there. If the lens needs a relube or other work at some point in the future, you can get the repairman to take care of the debris then.

Thanks for the replies guys. Johan, sometimes it does, sometimes it doesn't. It seems to keep returning to the rear element. But what Jon said makes sense, I haven't had any issues with the photos by this lens yet, it just pains me a bit to see that piece on the glass every time I switch lenses...

Thanks for the advice, I'm going to leave it there for now and see if I run in to any problems with the photographs. In case I do run in to problems ill either try to find a repairman or try to do it as kuuan described.
