I've been taking photos for many years, first with film then digital. I am brand new to RF photography. I bought a Canon Canonette QL17 and having fun with it. I am looking at a Voigtlander R3M. I thought the 1:1 would help with my aging eyes. Anyone have any opinions about this camera.

The R3M is a wonderful camera. One of the finest film rangefinders ever made. Certainly at least, dollar for dollar.

I checked x1.25 magnifier on Leica M4-2 with 50mm lens. Looks same 1:1 as with M3.

You might look at the R3a and the R2a, that automatic shutter exposure comes in handy. Also, the viewfinder lines are different on the R3 and the R2, so be sure you get the one that matches your lenses.
