really interesting - seems to be some kind of prototype.

Yes, it is a prototype.
As the article said, it was one of the most advanced lens based on Gauss concept. It has never built before, not by the russians and nor the germans, because glass tecnology limit.
But years after the Sonnars/Jupiters, russians tried to improve the project. This result in the Orchideja-3.

It's not a seller! Just a devote man who made this monumental research work.
I think Orchideja-3 is so rare to find that its price would be much much higher than a genuine Zeiss Sonnar 50/1.5.
