I wonder if Wayne overdeveloped the negatives?

I have 8 rolls I wish to shoot if the weather will co-operate. From what I have seen the film looks great. I have been playing around with HC-110 but I think I will use D-76 on this.

I double checked, the side of the negatives does say 100.
I changed from iso 100 to 400 mid-roll, the first half of the roll is way overexposed, the second half is perfectly exposed. Seems unlikely if there was a development mistake that it would be perfectly exposed at 400.
I use a pretty good photo shop that never has a problem with any other film stock (bw or color, e6, 4x5, etc). Since this has happened over a few trips to this shop, I think it's unlikely they have made a mistake just with this film (and not the iso400 arista).
Hopefully it's just me and YMMV.

Since they use airmail for international orders, that gives me an indication of the time line. So far it has been 5 days including the weekend.
I have this bad habit of sometime getting fixated about the delivery of an item bought online.
how much is shipping to Toronto?

I bought a 1000 ft of Arista Premium 400 earlier in the fall. I have been using it with reloadable Nikon cassettes and also loaded some Tri X at the same time. It is basically the same film. It responds the same way to developers and exposure as Tri X. I have been using it for trying out Xtol/Rodinal combination and rating the film at 400.

I really have to try this stuff! I have a few rolls but I haven't shot any of it!

I'm almost through my first 100-feet (bulk) of Premium 400, and I'll soon be ordering another two. I usually shoot from 400-1600 and develop in Diafine, just like Tri-X. It's really nice.

Do they ship to Europe?
yes, they do.
I ordered 100 rolls of 400 and got them last week (took little over two weeks).
Beware though that customs can add up to two weeks to the delivery time and that you will have to pay VAT and import tax
(but hey, a euro is worth 1,40 dollars. Those taxes never add up to more than 40%. And a roll of trix here costs 5-6 euros)

Yes they ship to Europe, but when I am filling my cart and then check the shipping costs, the price doubles.

Its around 25 dollars, give or take. I think when I priced it all out, with our dollar being worth so little again, each $2 roll of film ends up costing about 3.50 ~ 3.75, or something like that. (If you order 40-50 rolls.)

Their shipping is super expensive to Canada if you ask me. I ordered a bunch of stuff; the order was something like $180, and the shipping was slightly more than $40! Of course, given that I couldn't get the C-41 developer in Canada I can't complain too much!

I am not sure about this
I am not sure about this
Several folks on apug and elsewhere feel it is slightly different, and possibly parts of the mfg. process are from a different location, but this may be more applicable to the plusx Arista product.
Color tint and film behavior during scanning was also mentioned as being different.

The 400 is terrific. It is absolutely Tri-X.

I have co-developed Arista Premium 400 and trix 400 in the same tank, and I too feel that there are subtle differences. Arista seems to have slightly greater contrast. Half a grade or less.

The shipping isnt cheap but considering its only $1.99 a roll its still a lot cheaper than the cost of any other 400 b&w film here in Canada.I paid $7.00 for a roll of delta 400 a few weeks ago at my local shop.
