original 1.9 canonet or QL 1.7

can anyone tell me if the lens on the QL 1.7 is any different in sharpness etc to the lens on my original canonet 1.9 ?

The 45/1.9 was a fine lens. If there is a difference, it will be marginal. The chief difficulty is that selenium meter cells do not last.

cheers payasam, surprisingly the meter on mine is still perfect, and I enjoy using the camera, esp the bottom winder. So I was just wondering if the 1.7 lens was better and I should bother looking one.

Unless you want an addition rather than a replacement, I wouldn't bother.
