original 3.5cm f/1.8 - does this look normal?

I've been looking for a 35mm lens for my recently-acquired S3 and been tossing up between an original 3.5cm 2.5, a 3.5cm 1.8, or a CV 35/2.5. The repro lens that came out with the SP 2005 would be awesome but both hard to get and priced beyond where I'm willing to go for this.

I found a nice-looking original 3.5cm 1.8 on eBay (still nearly 3x the price of a new CV 35...) but a couple of the pics show the gap between the rear part of the barrel and the main section to be very uneven - I doubt it's supposed to look like this but if there's someone who'd care to chime in I'd appreciate it. If this is an inappropriate post or way to ask this question I apologize in advance.

Given the going prices for the original lenses I'm pretty much leaning to the CV but if there's a reason not to (other than originality), someone please let me know!
