Hey

I managed to pick up a really nice 3rd version 35mm 'cron for a good price, but it came to me with the current E39 clip-on cap in place of the good old push on original. Does anyone know of anywhere that might have any, do you even have a spare in good condition that you don't need? Hey, I'd even settle for a decent picture of one so I'd know exactly what I'm looking for at camera fairs.

Thanks :)

There are good reproduction Leica caps being sold on ebay. There was a thread just a week or so ago discussing this, you may want to look it up as there were other places listed also.

A42 push on caps are still available as a new Leica part, but often come up used on Ebay as well as the repros that Rover has mentioned.

Thanks, I'll look for that. I've seen repro caps on eBay from Russia, but wasn't sure about fit and quality. I guess the easy thing to do would be buy one and see.

Mr. Philip, you may already know that the Leica part number for which you're looking is 14268.

Not sure where you're located, but KEH has at least one genuine Leica and it's US$9.00. I recently learned that they have an 'unpublished' shipping rate for lightweight orders under $50 for U.S. addresses but you have to ask for it.

I've just ordered a new replacement cap from Ffordes here in the UK and, just so everyone knows, they told me that this particular cap has recently been end-of-lined by Leica, so now night be a good time to grab one, even as a spare.
