Hi.
So, some time ago I purchased a silver (not titanium) M6 TTL from somebody who had never shot a single roll through it, instead used the camera as decoration.
The strange thing about this camera is that it's covered with an Ostrich (real or imitation) leather. I initially thought he had recovered the camera with a 3rd party skin, but I could not find any seller with the same covering (I only know of cameraleather and aki asahi). The application was truly professionally done -- I inspected it carefully and I cannot find a single issue with it, I had never seen a 3rd party skin applied so perfectly. I actually have an M8 that was recovered with the original skin by Leica NJ and the job doesn't look as good as this M6.
Which started me thinking: maybe the camera came from Solms like that!? Are there other versions of M6 (besides the Titanium) that came with ostrich skin from factory? Could this be specially ordered? Has anybody ever seen a Silver M6 0.85 with ostrich skin?
