I've received a sony a100 as a gift a month ago and I enjoy using it ever since.

I have a Leica and I enjoy shooting it in low light situations. Being able to handhold at shutter speed 1/15 or even 1/8 is a big plus to me. However, I found that I can now do the same with my Sony Alpha, thanks to the "Super Steady Shot" feature.

I just bought a Sigma 30mm f1.4 for my A100 and now it's my new low-light combo (when I'm too busy to develop films!). I still like my Leica but it's nice to be able to see the pictures instantly.

I just want to share this with you rangefinder folks, and is there any Sony Alpha user here that feels the same as me?

There's a sister board to RFF called DSLRx that you might want to explore:

Now that Jorge has opened it up to film SLRs as well as DSLRs, there's a bit more discussion and gallery posting.

I don't own an Alpha myself, but I had the chance to mess around with one for an hour or so and thought it quite a nice unit.

I tried to register and I was banned. Why I do not know.

Right now, my attitude is, who needs it? I have a Minolta Maxxum 7 and a K-M Maxxum 7D. They will keep me busy for a while.

Somehow this thread seems to have gotten off-track. I'm talking about the Sony Alpha 100!!
