What I can't understand is the fact that there are so many dumb@$$es out there who can be tricked into buying expensive items without using escrow or COD or else.

I never bought anything worth over AU$100 from *bay except for one occassion which I met the seller in person to complete the trade. If I want to buy expensive second hand stuff, I'd rather buy from a shop and pay extra $50 for peace of mind, being able to inspect the item before making the purchase and warranty.
