any start trek fans out there?

i am a biggie and will be absent from the forum for the 2 hours it will take to shut down the trek franchise after nearly 20 years of continuous programming.

so very sad for an old man such as myself...

i'm a trekkie, but didn't really keep up with enterprise. never got into any of the characters or stories.... i pretty much defected to battlestar galactica. 🙂

so, are there any plans for a new series?

Been a fan longer than I can recall. And I want Rick Berman's and Brannon Braga's heads on a platter for what those egg suckers have done.

No I won't watch this tonignt. May there be no new Trek till those Ba(#U#$s are gone.

(Me? Upset? Vehament? Nah, never... 😛 )

Wow, 20 years. Just think all that happened in that time. And what didn't, after all, 20 years means Spock only went into heat twice, maybe three times if the timing was right, during all that time. 🙂

I can't say that I have been much of a Trekkie, but I have enjoyed many episodes and what it contributed to our entertainment through the years.

Nah. Gene wouldn't have ever allowed it. Star Trek was always about it's being a utopia. There was a nice bit of propagand for the TV Bosses about "wagon train to the stars", but the reality was that he had a vision of a very nearly perfect future and that was Trek. The episode "City of the Edge of Forever" was amazing as shot; it would have been pure HBO if it had been done as orignially written by Mr. Ellison. Drug runners on the bridge, oh my... (the original script is available in one of Mr. Ellison's books. It's well worth finding.)

But Berman and Braga did what NBC couldn't - they made it so deadly dull that it died.

Foo.

The orginal Star Trek and DS9 were the only good ones. The rest were really bad. Altho I didnt mind TNG. But Enterprise and Voyager? *looks to be sick and goes back to watching Farscape*

Actually Voyager is my favorite of all the Star Trek series. I don't like Enterprise because the ship is a bit crappy. Plus I think Scott Bakula do not make a good captain. He looks kinda whimpy. And T'Pol is probably the most emotional Vulcan I have ever seen in any Star Trek series....

THEY KILLED OFF TRIPP! I am very dissappointed with the series ending, and even more so with the way they ended the series. Too much of a downer. Think I'll digitize it and change the ending.

BUT! There are the "New Voyages", Internet downloadable episodes made after the original series. These are not under the overview of the team that road the series into ratings oblivion, and even have Eugene Roddenberry Jr. as consulting Producer.

Actually, I thought the "Evil Empire" story had the potential for a great series. But, they killed off Evil-Archer!

If they want to do a next installment, I vote for the Adventures of Capt Christopher Pike and the Enterprise. TRIVIA QUESTION: Who was the First Captain of the Enterprise NCC 1701?

Um, according to the animated series, it was Robert April. Damn, now everyone KNOWS I'm a geek...

Captain Kirk was the Third Captain. Pike was the 2nd, seen in the original Pilot. played by Jeffrey Hunter. There was one episode in the extended series that brought in the original Captain of the Enterprise.

No, Good Try. The Captain's Wife also served onboard (ships Doctor) and both made a return trip to the Enterprise.

This Episode first aired in October 1974. I wish someone would pick up that little-seen Star Trek installment.
