Everything work fine, until the leak... 😀
The contrary, everything worked wrong from the start, fatally leading to the leak. That's the whole story of the "FSU" and our FSU gear. The dramatic side being the extraordinary human effort being castrated time and again by the beaurocratic command from above. What a waist of human resources !
Take for example that gem camera called Kiev. In a recent email exchange, Peter Hennig, a photography historian from Zeiss Historica, after asked by me why a Kiev cannot perform as smooth as a Contax, answered me that the difference lyies in the assembly line methods.
In his well known article about the Kievs history, he recalls one time after visiting the assembly lines the Politbureau decided to throw to the basket the whole monthly production. What nice a way to educate, promote and emulate.
But on the other hand, by the same token, at least regarding Soviet cameras, the bad human factor can be improved back to a fairly large extent by us, the enthusiasts from below, free living.
Like a million Kievs around...
Cheers,
Ruben
