OT: PayPal

Anyone having PayPal problems? I've had all kinds of issues the last couple of days, PayPal switched a payment from one source to another without telling me on Friday, Saturday it never sent me a confirmation of payment email (although it got the funds from the correct account this time), yesterday it was crashing in the middle of a transcaction and today I can't even log in. When I go to telephone help I get the same message as I get on the log in screen. The web site has no notice on the home page that they are having difficulties...

Is anyone else having problems or is it just me?

Hmmm seems like I'm in an empty room here - I thought that given the apparently manic scramble to buy & sell equipment on this forum 😉 others would have noticed. 🙂

But anyway, after a couple of really lame notices today (PayPal has been down all day) they posted a real message with a promised up time about 10 minutes ago:

i don't use paypal and don't even have an account with them.

i prefer money orders, slows things down to a crawl and gives me more to whine about.

I can get into the web site and was able to send money out for a lens hood with case for my Iskra, but if I try to use the debit card for the account, it gets declined.

It seems to be since they got thier "new" homepage - I'd bet they have also been trying to migrate to a new server farm and are having too much fun... 😛 Glad I'm doing the stay at home dad with a rangefinder folder thing instead of IT anymore.

LOL Joe! 😉 I've never had a problem with PayPal until this weekend. Now they've extended the "up" time through another hour. I'm trying to pay for two items with a credit card, a transaction I've done a million times but it's failing at the last hurdle.

Money orders are good, but it can take a long time if it has to cross a border, like from me to Joe.

Well, it's back working, and I paid my bills with a credit card. But it's crawling... 🙁

It's 9:00 AM Central Time (US) and Paypal is still almost non-functional. The log-in just locks up. Someone critical to their operations probably took Columbus day off.

Yes, I tried to pay via Paypal two days ago and kept getting "error" messages too. They finally paid, after many hours waiting.
And then there's the faux Paypal emails, saying I need to "Update my account" - LOL - What bozos!

As of 6:00pm Eastern time it's sort of working. Paid another couple of bills today and I've got none left to pay now but it is still very slow.

Given the volume of transactions I would think that the server(s) is/are just groaning under the load trying to catch up.
