We're all light!
Cruising the 'Bay, for a bit, and I get an idea for a neat present for Signifcant Other: a new lens for her Olympus OM-2S. I plug in the necessary info, wnd, among other pertinent stuff, I come across this:

Now, I know all about the original M-1, and how the famous spat with Leitz forced a name change (which didn't hurt Olympus at all...one might say Leitz almost did them a favor). I can imagine that a clean M-1 would fetch some serious cash (never mind the mechanical issues in those early models, which only got cleared up in later OM-1s). But a $750 BIN for the box? Any Leica boxes running this high?
Yes, eBay is a "zone" Rod Serling would know all about (and, once in a while, it's served me well in this crazed manner, so perhaps I do protest too much). But you need some serious cardboard for that kind of money. And it's not even shrink-wrapped! 😛

P.S. Pertaining to another current thread, the real secret to handling GAS is to have a partner in crime: she'll rein you in when you're getting too slap-happy for your own good, but when something great and sensible comes along, she'll say, "honey, why aren't you bidding on this?" In my case, it helps that we both have Olympus SLRs to create a "lens pool" with.🙂
