is anyone using non hexlar lenses on the rf hexlar?
i've read they work, or some experience them not working.
also read they can be adjusted to work for non hexlar lenses.

thinking of buying a body.

thanks,

I'm using a 35/2 and 90/2 summicron-mostly the 35 - on my Hex RF having sold an M6 TTL. I'm returning after a long time away and the only problems I have had are lack of metering practice-particularly indoor, window lit. I had a couple of hiccups with the 90 mm focusing but I'm sure it was my inexperience and how deadly RF's focus fully open, close up - 1cm out and you can throw it in the trash! I am aware of much reported focussing problems and as I say, with more experience i may come across this but at my current level I have much to learn. I'm awaiting delivery of two zeiss lenses a 28/2.8 and a planar 50/2. If I have any problems I'll post something. I love the hexar and actually found it very difficult to find hexanon lenses.

I've had two HEXAR bodies and the 1st had issues with every lens excepting the original kit 50mm Hexanon. The 2nd body I had was fantastic with all lenses, I just didn't like the low powered finder when it came to focusing longer than 50mm.

There are still some as new kits getting around as well as some of the limited edition kits with the 50mm f1.2.

Cheers Andrew.

Have tried 7 different Leica and Konica lenses on my Hexar RF, all are perfect. Hexar RF = my true love, what a great camera.

My Hexar RF works fine w/all my non-Konica lenses, but other owners, including Mr. Gandy (http://www.cameraquest.com/konicam.htm), have had different experiences. There have been several threads on this issue in the RFF & elsewhere (e.g., http://photo.net/leica-rangefinders-forum/00RuQ9). Try searching using Google or other good search engine.

My take is that to be absolutely sure, you should get return privileges for any body you buy & do your own testing.
