2020 Golden Globe best foreign movie went to 'Parasite' (Korean Hanji; 寄生蟲) written and directed by Bong Joon-ho 奉俊昊,
i saw his 'Memories of Murder'(2003), i know then, this guy is a genius...the ending of 'Memories of Murder' was heart wrenching,
the 2nd half of 'Parasite' take a story turn to horror and sadness, no, it not a sci-fi movie, but a real look at the low and high class folks in a modern South Korean City, there is a reason for the screen writer to decided who live and who dies in the end, i'd very much like to ask Bong, why...xxx dies why...but i think that's the question even Bong can't answer...

based on a true story of unsolved multiple rape murders by a serial killer in a South Korean rural countryside from 1986-91,
Bong's 'Memories of Murder' has multiple depth about the defects of detectives in the whole frustrating chilling games of catch the killer...
the emotions in 'Memories of murders' maybe compare to Fincher's 'Seven' + 'Zodiac', for me, it's more powerful...the last 3 minutes ending scene was just unbelievably chilling/moving, i only get that from Zhang Yi-mou's 'Shanghai Triad' ending before...

in Sept 2019, Korean police caught the killer... it's 33 years later and 16 years after the movie
