out of ALL the gear you have ever owned...

I'd would like to go with my Canon 1dsmII with the 24-70L 2.8 lens but thats what I use for work all the time. I just got an M6 but would probably take my IIIg with 50mm Summmmitar f2.

tough question requires honest answer;
so for me its my original Nikon FE with its series E 50mm f1.8 lens

Something mechanical? A gamble on how long there'll be film available and an even bigger gamble on a developing service. Something digital? Another gamble on for how long there'll be energy still coming out of the hole in the wall, assuming that place in Seattle doesn't shut me out before then with an umpteenth USB upgrade that's incompatable. Beyond the grave? That's better than something to take to a lonely desert island that'll be swamped soon by the ocean rising due to polar icecaps melting. Anyway, a lens with largest possible aperture to take advantage of that flickering red light.

My Fed2 + its collapsible Industar 50, been with me since 1961, never ever failed, needs no batteries, and built like a Fordson tractor. Probably would even stand the heat where I'm going!!!:angel:
The tram was taken with it in Ghent(Belgium) in 1963, the monochrome 43 years later, so it will probably outlast me!!:rolleyes:

Sorry, but wildlife is my first photographic love. So it would be the 30D and 100-400IS zoom. If allowed two, the second would be my Hexar RF and (probably) M-Hexanon 50/2 (but ask me another day and it might be the M-Hexanon 35/2).

lol! and now i can't get that tune outta my head!!

:)

my first thought was my M3 and Sonnar 50/1.5 combo.. but then I realized that the vast majority of my best shots were taken with a Contax T

but my favorite camera is still probably my Vivitar 35ES.. if it's going to be one camera and one lens, who needs an M-mount?

John Robertson, how in the world did you get a FED from the Soviet Union in 1961? Please tell us, unless you'd have to shoot us afterward.

Joe, I can't make up my mind between the CLE with a collapsible 50 Summicron or my long lamented Pentax LX with the 50 1.4. I am a Libra.

In my heart, from my heart, without hesitation, it is this: my black Wetzlar Leica M6 and my Canadian 35 Summicron with shade. I have used this combination since 1989 and we have seen a lot together. Making that statement makes me wonder why I have all of the other wonderful gear, and if I ponder that too much longer, you'll see a lot of stuff for sale here...gotta get another thought in my head quick.

If I could have more than one lens, it would be the P, but since it's one and one - I'd go with the Rolleiflex I own - the E3 Planar 2.8.

My Pentax K1000 and 50/2 SMC-M lens. It may not be the gear I use most often, but it belonged to my dad, I cut my teeth on it when it was time to get serious with film, and that's all the reason I need. Now that it's come up, I think it's earned a roll of Elite Chrome 100, some fresh batteries, and a walk in the woods....
