Melanie, it feels as if it was taken yesterday. Lovely photo!

I would take my FED 3a / Jupiter 3 setup. The flexibility of this combo is unbeatable to me. It does almost everything I want and need in a camera. If something breaks, I can fix it. If I lose it, I can get another one. If I really had to, it can protect me from an attacker(s).
I know the build quality is not on par with most, but it has never let me down nor left me wishing I had somthing else with me.

Canon EF, 50 1.4. The first camera I bought myself. It took me many months of saving. I'm still feeling a bit ashamed that I betrayed it for a Canon A1.

The best camera is one that still works!
To all the gear I've owned before,
That's travelled in and out my door
I'm glad you came along ... I dedicate this song
To all the gear I've owned before.
To all the gear I once caressed,
And may I say I've held the best
For helping me to grow, I owe a lot I know
To all the gear I've owned before.

AMEN! I bought my EF in 1975. I bought the 50/1.4 this spring. Why did I wait so long? A lovely pair for sure.

Is a... tripod alowed? Then, my Autocord. No tripod, then, my FM2n with 105mm f2.5 AIS. I am learning to handhold my Autocord, but I still have ways to go. Must be a rangefinder? Now this one is difficult. I prefer leaf shutters. If it does not have a leaf shutter, might as well have a mirror, too
. Oh... sorry, sorry, sorry... I forgat this is the rff... sorry  I think I own (or did so at some point in time) every leaf shutter rangefinder anyone has ever posted good words for :bang: . Cause in the after life batteries are no problem, my pick would be... Konica S3. Small, light, killer lens, all black... what else is there?

I can't do it -- I can't pick just one. But maybe I can do it by category:
Rangefinder -- Hexar RF + 35/2 M-Hexanon
SLR -- Nikon FM2n + Voigtlander SL 40/2
Medium Format -- Minolta Autocord
Rangefinder -- Hexar RF + 35/2 M-Hexanon

My Nikon F3HP and its partner 28mm always do excellent job for me.

The rangefinder is so dim as to be pretty much useless
But its black with lots of brassing and the smoothest camera I have ever used
And I get better shots with it than pretty much any other camera I've used

Oh, and a man to develop the film for me, getting lazy these days!

Autocords? I bought one in the last camera club auction for £28. The one problem, the focussing is stiff. Other than that, it's very good condition...

As for my list of equipment, so far... my Canon 350D, the Sigma 18-125.
I'd add the Slik 88 tripod onto that list, but it's just a bit too heavy for my liking.
I'll add the Weston Master V to the list when the Leica gets its lens.

I would take my Nikon F3 and my Nikkor 50mm 1.8. It would be nice if I could take my motor drive and my flash too though.

This is so. Difficult. To. Answer.
I think I would toss up a four sided coin between my Hexar AF (current favourite), Olympus Stylus Epic, Nikon F (plain prism) + 28-50/3.5 (WONDERFUL lens) or my Yashicamat 124G. Did I mention I'm an ambiguous person?

Leica M3, rigid Summicron 50/2, because it's the best camera I have, because I take my best photos with it, and because it was my father's.
Nice rig. Its got provenance.

Well, you're not going to believe this, but I would choose the Minolta X-700 and 50mm F2 Minolta lens. Great SLR and nice lens. I took many lovely shots with that combo in the '80s. Second choice would be a Nikon FE with 105mm AI Nikkor. A great portrait kit.

Ira
