Maybe it's me, but lately I've noted pricing on used M's to be a lot higher than I expected.
I mean, for example, take this "mint" 35mm Summicron 4th version (so called "King of Bokeh"
🙄 ):

Look at the price it went for - I know that collectors can pay a lot more than what tends to be the "going rate" but I didn't expect to see it go for that much.
With that said, is it the M8 that's caused a recent price increase in most good condition M lenses? Has anyone noticed this with 50's or other M lenses or is it only the 35's that seem to be on the upswing?
More curious than anything because I
have been looking at some 35 Cron's lately.
Cheers,
Dave
Not all M- lenses are 'exceptional' expensive at the moment.
You can buy a new Elmar 2.8/ 50 at about €680,-
The Tele-Elmarit 2.8/90 for about €600,
And the 'old' three lenser'4./90 M Elmar for about €200,-
The Hector 4,5/135 for about €140,-
The Elmar M 4/135 for about €295,-
The summicron C 40/2 for about €450,-
The 'old' Summarits and Elmars 50mm are still not too expensive.
The prices of the lenses for the R-system are a bargain. The R- cameras too!!
You can buy a Summicron R 2,0/50 for about €150,-
Combine this for instance with a Leica RE for about €250, (new state) and you have a cheapy that can compete with a M- camera!
Personaly I do prefer to combine the M cameras (M4 and M6) with a Leicaflex SL2.
This gives you more possibilities to combine lenses of the two systems in order to spent not too much money for your lenses.
The lenses of the two Leica systems have the same 'Leica character'!
