Outside Magazine has apparently let slip a picture of the new Contax G1 Digital :)p):

From the June, 2010 issue.

Doesn't look too convincing to me, the mode dial looks photoshopped. However, this would be a nice camera.

The mode dial and some of the buttons looks Canon-like. Also, I don't see anything that suggests Contax.

Again, not that it's true or not true. Also, who would build it with Kyocera out of the game?

I haven't really been keeping up with things.

There are definitely Contax bits. Interesting that the aperture ring goes to f/16 but the scale to f/32.

Heh...badly PS'd, I'd say.

But it still doesn't top this boner, IMO. (Widely plastered in My Fair City's subway a few months back):

Spot the amazing Gaffe. (Taken with cell-phone cam 'cause it was all I had with me.)

Mind you, this is a school. Dog help us.

I think this one is fake. Exposure dial with "auto" setting and a mode dail with Tv-setting??? How is this supposed to work???? You either set the expoure to "auto" or the mode dial to Tv. Why have both?

Note that there are two on/off switches--the real one, and the one they photoshopped on.

I think they just thought the G1 was cool looking and then digi'ed it up.

 ... please, this is just a scan (now on my Flickr site) of an ad from Outside Magazine, current issue (June 2010). Of course it has been Photoshopped! One just wonders about the advertising team's thoughts on featuring a camera that started as the Contax G1.
