Paint chipping and the best way to patch it up

Hey it's me again. I got my Bessa R a few weeks ago and in my rush to get it out into the field, I stupidly attached some metal strap lugs to it. Needless to say, within a few hours this had happened:

Not very nice. Anyone had any experience with patching this kind of stuff up? Cheers

It's obviously bothersome to you, and it used to be to me, but after seeing some pics of Tom A's M2's, and other cameras, I don't mind seeing some brassing. When this happens to my M3 and another camera I'm getting , I'll welcome it. In fact, I stopped using cases.

Maybe reconsider and enjoy your camera?

I cannot advise how to patch it up but one thing I often do is to get some adhesive backed thin rubber "stuff" from a craft store and use a small round punch to punch out some circular dots that I stick on this area of my metal bodied cameras to prevent it from happening. Kind a poor mans version of what Leica do with their later camera bodies. If you manage to patch the problem you may wish to try something of this sort in future. The small dots you buy from hardware stores to put under objet d'art to stop it scratching furniture can be used too.

Use a black paint pen made for cars, plus 2000 grit sandpaper and rubbing compound. I just did this touch-up on my Yashica GX and it works great.
