How about a true Beer & Gear get together at The Oasis in Palo Alto followed by a visit to the Cantor to see Friedlander's exhibit? Maybe a weekend day so many can attend?

What date did you have in mind, Kent? I'll be down in Sunnyvale this weekend and could meet Saturday evening. I'm pretty booked during the day on Saturday, though.

@Damaso- We wish you could join us as well!
@Bingley- I'd be up for Saturday. If anyone wants to hit the museum earlier its open until 5pm that day.

Kent, I'll be out of town this weekend, but any day after that is good for me.

Well, what's it look like guys? Shall we do it another day as it doesn't seem to be pulling a lot of interest.

The show is at Stanford till June 16th.
So we have a while to see this as a group and make more solid plans.
SO what works for everyone?

Sounds like we might have to. I may be back down toward the end of April. I'm booked for the next two Saturdays.

I'm in for pretty much any day. I'm not planning to be out of town anytime before mid-summer.

My schedule is really open with the exception of the weekend of the 19th. Let's find a day to do it.

Also at Stanford, in the old art gallery by the library: a Bob Dawson retrospective. Remember the Dawson/Johnson book on The Great Central Valley?

I'm not familiar with his work Kirk. Sounds like something I'll have to see.

In addition to the Friedlander work, there are two other photography exhibits that y'all should check out:
http://museum.stanford.edu/view/exhibition_sched_new.html
"Revisiting the South: Richard Misrach’s Cancer Alley" are very large prints of large format (8x10) work.
"Hauntings: American Photographs, 1845–1970" is a small exhibition of work from the permanent collection on a theme.
All well worth the cost of admission!
Yes, I know it's free, I'm a member, so please drop in a buck or ten in the donation boxes when you visit.
