So Panasonic announced four new items today
- gx8
- fz300
- 25f1.7
- 100-400 zoom
http://www.43rumors.com/hot-panasonic-gx8-fz300-100-400mm-and-25mm-lens-announced/
Of which gx8 has a new 20mp sensor, weather sealed body, dual is, and fully articulated touch screen oled LCD.
This link also has the camera store review of gx8.
The two new lenses support a pseudo kind of Lytron (excuse spelling, can't remember the spelling) type tech where u select autofocus point only but works only w/ 4k video if I understand correctly and is not truly a Lytron type approach just a pseudo.

They have to scratch "micro" and leave only 3/4.

More info on the post focus they are doing. Btw it was Lytro not Lytron. It is essentially variation stacking approach.

Now that they have established the gm series for the smallest m43 w/ an evf, I think they are positioning the gx series differently.. The camera store alluded to fact this is the first gf/gx type camera that would appeal to pro photographer. While that remains to be seen and is a matter of opinion..on the other hand, I really thought the gm series was getting to small.

I like what I've read and seen about the gx8. I've been considering a GH4 to add to my GH3; but, I think the GX8 might be just what I'm looking for. I'll wait until I see some real world results, though, when the camera hits the market.

I always thought micro was dumb. The m in m4/3 should be mirroless sense it is the same size sensor, just smaller bodies. They have to scratch "micro" and leave only 3/4.

As to to new body, I read that it has in body IS. You can use it, or a Panasonic's in lens IS, but the kicker is you can use both together in this body. The two IS systems won't fight each other, but the processor with make them work in unison for better IS.
