And I wish they would get rid of CLOCKS in every single damned menu. Why do I need to be reminded of the time every time I change the aperture or press the shutter button?

The Panasonic EVF may have limitations but it is more than adequate when focusing manual lenses! When the sun is out it is needed unless totally depending on the AF lenses.

Anyone have one of these and use it? I was thinking about getting one, particularly for shooting legacy lenses in bright sun. I can see the lcd well enough to frame, but focusing is a pita.
The EVF for the GF1 is very disappointing. I found it difficult to use with manual focus lenses. IMO, a waste of $ if to be used for focusing. The EVF built into the G1 is football fields ahead in terms of quality. The VF-2 for the E-P2 and E-PL1 (I just got mine) are not quite as good as the G1 but good enough.

I took the LVF for its first spin around town. While it's certainly not spectacular, it serves its purpose for framing. Being able to use the camera at eye level makes a big difference for some types of shooting. The main reason I would choose it over an optical viewfinder is to see blown highlights. Now I just have to figure out how to improve the grip on the camera. I have to squeeze the body a bit more than I'd like to keep a good hold on it.
