Simply I used to ask permission to take pictures of kids but now I have stopped asking. I just go ahead and shoot and I have realized that when I asked in the past I faced opposition. Now its very seldom when someone dares saying no.

In the science fiction novel 'Strata' (by Terry Pratchett, c. 1984) there's a reference to the 'mindquakes' which reduced the human population of earth to tiny numbers. The nature of 'mindquakes' is never explained, but suddenly they start to look more and more real.
Of course, you could argue that anyone who lives in a huge city automatically contributes to the collective insanity...
