Parts for Super Ikonta

I have just recently become the proud owner of a new (well, actually it's about 74 years old) Super Ikonta 532/16. It's in great working order and I am having a blast using it. The only issue is it's missing one of the screws on the top that attaches the black focusing plate. Anyone know where I might find one? If I knew the thread pattern I could probably locate one through one of the watch supply companies I've bought from, or McMaster Carr.

I am also looking for a nice leather eveready case for it. Is there a good source for these? Or is there anyone out there who makes new leather cases that would fit this camera?

You could try asking Henry Scherer or Clarence Gass (Mission, KS). They have tons of parts from their years of servicing these cameras.

As for the case, you should try a Google search. No-one is making them. I bought one online. It looked good, but as it did not have a camera in it for years, the leather shrank and it would not close over my camera. I had to have a leather worker sew an extension onto the closing flap in order to allow me to close it.

You should realize that Zeiss leather is acidic. If the cloth fabric on the inside of the leather flap portion that covers the lens is worn or missing, then contact with the leather and the chrome trim of the camera's lens cover will result in the chrome being eaten away and brassing occuring. I had that happen to me once. I've put in adhesive flocking material (black velvet) to prevent that.

I've found that the best place to find vintage camera cases is Ebay. I've easily found Voightlander cases for my Perkeo II, Bessa II, and a couple of weeks ago - a Zeiss case for my SI IV. All have been in excellent condition. And relatively cheap to boot. Search under "Zeiss case" or "Ikonta case" - you should get a selection to choose from.

My searches on eBay only turned up a few Ikonta cases, and they were all for different models. I ended up just ordering one from http://www.collectiblecameras.com/ . Hopefully it's the right one, as they didn't have a picture of it.

As for the screw, I contacted Henry about the screw and he's saying he needs me to send him the camera to match the screw to it. Not sure about this- I really hate being without a camera for any length of time, especially if the camera's still working fine. I'll see what Clarence has to say.

No word yet from Clarence , but Henry is adament that he HAS to have the camera in front of him to match the screw- I offered to give him accurate dimensions of the screw I'm looking for but that's evidently not enough for him to go by.
