My 15 year old granddaughter has shown an interest in photography the past few years. Recently she told my daughter that she wanted a camera like mine, but she "did not want to put you in a financial bind."

Well, my Olympus EP-2 kit has not seen much use since I got my EM-5 two years ago. Knowing that it would not bring anywhere near what I paid for it if I sold it or traded it, I passed it on to my granddaughter.

She is now the proud owner of the EP-2, Oly 17f2.8 and zoom.

Looking forward to teaching her about photography !!

Now, maybe she will quit leaving me selfies on my camera whenever she finds it unattended 🙂

Unfortunately, no one in my family has the photography bug. I even gave my oldest brother a Canon outfit last year, and I don't think he has used it at all.
Glad you can share your experiences with the granddaughter.

Neither of my two eldest lads are interested in photography (though the middle son asked for an SLR he never uses). The oldest bought me the camera that reignited my interest, so I have to be grateful for that.

I need to work on the baby, and bring him up a photographer (as well as a cyclist and a socialist 😉 )

Wonderful!

When I first made a few photographs with my M4, my grand daughter (6 years young), wanted to see them. I have a Zhou camera case I bought from CameraQuest. She thought for sure I had a screen on the back and even peeked, with the case moved by her little fingers, looking for the results.

What a way to bond. Who'd ever thought a camera would serve as a prop for it to happen!

Grandchildren, one of the best parts of life!
