I've had my Konica Pearl IV for less than a year. It's a real beauty and is flawless in operation. The only downside is that it will only focus down to 1.2 meters (nearly 4 feet?) I heard somewhere that there is a close up lens attachment, strangely called a 'Pleasant Auto-Up'
I found one on the big auction site and excitedly pulled the trigger. It wasn't ridiculously expensive so when it didn't fit I thought I would just sell it on. The problem I discovered was that the lens opening on the Pearl IV is opposite to all previous models, as far as I know. So the Auto-Up I bought is impossible to mount.
Does anyone know if there was or is a close up lens attachment for the Pearl IV? I'm going around in circles and it's not even crucial but the more I see the less I know - if you see what I mean.

There were several Pleasant Auto-Ups made, for different cameras. I have one for the Konica I. I know; it's a great name. No idea whether there's one for the Pearl IV. Maybe Konica made one -- there are some Konica experts on here who may know.

As for your P A-U, post a picture and maybe folks can figure out what camera it is for. It doesn't say right on it what model camera it fits? What diameter is the close up lens -- that can help figure out which lens it clamps onto.

Given the existence of the NOOKY, I do think people designing close-up attachments might have been a little... well, different!

Certainly, if I ever get a Barnack, I will have to get some NOOKY.

The one I bought is definitely made by/for Konica. The diameter is 32mm and since posting this I found images on Camera-Wiki. So there is one - I just have to find it. :D

All this talk of 'pleasant auto up' and 'nooky' will have the neighbours talking. 😁
