I have a pentacon f4/300mm lens with a m42 adapter. I'm after an pentacon 6 mount for it, but I don't know the type of mount the adapter system uses. Anyone got a clue?

The 300mm f4 Pentacon/Meyer Orestegor has interchangeable rear mount with screws. Try to contact Cupog on ebay, he may have P6 mounts for the lens.

MartinP said:Aha, it could simply be an M42 lens then . . . ? But then I Googled, and Pentacon did make this apparently.
I think the flange to film register is 45.5mm(?) on M42 and 71.1mm(?) for P6, so an adapter would need to be 25.6mm deep to get the same lens at infinity focus on a 35mm screw-mount body. Maybe there are a couple of parts to the mount and not just the piece with the M42 thread ?
EDIT: looks like Jason also thought of the same len 🙂
