Here are a few B&W photos that I took with Bob's Pentax 43mm 1.9 lens. As you may know, this is a very luxurious lens in built quality. I once compared it againstmy Summicron-C 40mm lens, and I was pleased at how well the Summicron-C held its place against its heavyweight challenger.
It seems that Bob has resold this lens.

Sorry for the large sized images.

At available light indoors [wide open and hand held]:

In the backyard. Camera steadied by tripod but my model was moving when she could:

Those last two are quite lovely Raid. As I told Raid I've missed this lens already, but it did have to go (and the MP is in process). Notice how well the corners hold up in the first two images, and the wonderful qualities the out of focus openings in the leaves have in the outdoor images. This is a great lens, and they come up every now and again.

Build quality is tops, and the bundled finder gives 43 & 50 framelines. I felt the finder was a little less well done, but gave as accurate a framing as one would want.

If you don't know, this is a LTM lens, called the '43/1.9 Special' and made for the Japanese market only. Pentax USA had no idea what I was talking about when I tried to get copies of any paperwork that had originally come with the lens.

If you need copies of the paperwork drop me a PM and I will scan them and send.

Lovely quality to that lens. As always Raid, a pleasure to see your testing using your family. Your older daughter looks so much like my sister when she was that age.

Thank you, Keith.

When I first saw the lens, I started daydreaming about owning such a lens one day. I have many SMC Pentax lenses for SLR cameras, so I expected this lens to be also excellent.

Kim- As the lens has moved on I will pass for now, but may take you up on it the next time one comes my way.

Well, it turned out that Bob still had this particular lens, so I bought it from him this morning.

I have tested the lens, and I loved it two years ago.
