Pentax 67 Gas!

If this thread isn't enough to make you want to buy a Pentax, then watch this (camera) pornographic video featuring the 67. Wow.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sOvTsya2r3Q

I've been away from this thread for awhile, and out shooting my Bronica S2 to remind myself that I don't need a 67. (As if that will ward off GAS forever.) That video is pornographic and seems designed to incite 67 lust! Just like actual porn, it glosses over some of the messier parts of the process and gives the impression the participants can go all night over and over again. :) That is, he skips the sometimes-troublesome step of getting the backing paper leader engaged in the take-up spool and cuts straight to easy winding on to line up the start mark. Then he machine-guns 4 frames in 13 seconds. That seems like what not to do with a 67 or any other camera that guzzles MF film, unless you're rich, your favorite emulsion is still made in 220 , and/or you like spending a lot of time reloading. (He loaded 120.)

And what's with the 'snick' of the shutter ... that can't be right. The shutter sound of the 67 normally frightens children and causes flocks of birds to fly into the air! :D

No matter how many photos I see from the Pentax Beast, they just get better & better.
Bjorn,
Sublime! Thanks for sharing.

bjolester, great atmosphere and great colors in your photos!

tsiklonaut, love your chrome photos, really great!

I don't have Pentax 67, I'm a Bronica user, but it is great to enter to this post. Thank you for sharing your photographs!

Nice rig David,

Pentax lenses are good but just wish you attached the proper P67 camera on the other end of that lens instead of a common CCD ;)

Maybe someday....for now I just have my Hasselblad for MF film. :D

Still, I find satisfaction in blending the old and the new and thought folks might like to see some possibilities with this gear.

James Comier has among the finest astroworks on film I've seen, he uses Pentax 67 with various lenses. Shoots both color and b&w film.

Margus

Thanks for sharing James' images...he does wonderful work!
