What tripods do you guys and gals use for this beast of a camera? I have an old Dolica that supports 13lbs, but im thinking about something a little beefier....

For years I used a Slik Pro 400DX. It did okay with the 45mm and 90mm lenses, but with the 200mm it wasn't sturdy enough for shutter speeds 1/125 and slower.
Last year I got a Bogen Manfrotto 3021N and then earlier this year I added an Induro PHQ1 pan head. This combo seems much sturdier than the Slik.

This is going to be the last time that I shoot color film. Since getting rid of my Coolscan and having to resort back to scanning with the V700 I cant believe that I survived scanning with that thing for so long. I'm going to continue to focus on shooting and printing black and white.

keechoon, where are you from? In Europe is a legacy repair shop too. Its Rudiger Maerz in Hamburg. Trained repairmen and the whole stock of parts in europe.

Thanks for the link. I'm over in Singapore (SE Asia) though and thought of looking around Asia or Japan for the servicing.

Read some articles on the problem but there isn't clear guides on how fix it by my own.

You don't need a scanner to enjoy colour film photography!
Besides the option of doing classical colour prints in your darkroom - as 'FujiLove' already mentioned - you have another excellent option:
And this option delivers even much better quality at lower costs and much less needed time compared to scanning colour negative film:
Use colour reversal film and an excellent slide loupe on a light table.
Using this way you get
- higher resolution, better sharpness and finer grain compared to the quality reducing process of scanning
- you avoid all the quality reducing factors of computer monitors
- no need for time consuming scans
- you get a much better brillance and colour fidelity compared to a picture on a computer monitor
- with an excellent medium format slide loupe like the Schneider 3x medium format loupe (or the Rodenstock medium format loupe or the Peak 4,5x Anastigmat) you get outstanding picture quality and an almost three-dimensional look (much much better than the flat look of computer monitors)
- the workflow is much much faster, just put the slide on the light table and start enjoying it.

And if you want huge formats in absolutely unsurpassed, breathtaking quality: Project your slides. There is nothing better. Cinema at home.

A friend asked me for some advice about a problem her 67II is having. I consider myself a pretty decent repair manual pack rat. But I did not have a copy of the service books for either the 67 or the 67II.

A quick Google search this evening led me to a hit for a site that is not, apparently, online. But it is cached. From the cache, I was able to successfully retrieve pdfs of the manuals for the 67 and 67II. The page also has links to a raft of other 67 related pdfs, lens manuals, accessory documents etc.

If you are into the 67s, and believe any of these files may be of some help to you, now, or in the future, I suggest retrieving them while they are still easily procurable. I have no plans to own a 67 now or in the future (I hasten to add I think they're great cameras, and I love Pentax lenses, but I've got plenty of MF options already). But I've grabbed the repair books anyway, in case I need to look at one down the track for someone.
