I found a Kiron 28mm f 2 lense for my new k 10 @ £30 from a dealer .
Obviously the glass is pristine , though it has those '' signs of use '' .
Looking it up on Goggle Kiron seem to ahve an excellent reputation , probably on par with Vivitar series one .
To be honest , this was a practise buy 'cos I had not seen an f 2 28mm around at a budget price , and I have always been dee-termined not to get carried away with expensive lenses at the expense of some Vooightlanders for my M 8 .
In a sense this is my supplementary camera , with the idea that if Vivitars and Chinons were good enough for me prior to the Rokkors , they will be fine for the Pentax today .
Maybe I have struck lucky because ''kirsten '' now feels like a real easy aperture priority camera rather that an auto all computer which I am struggling to control - or a bl..dy big auto everything compact !

Glad to hear you're finally settling in with your K10, Dee.

Kiron, as the lore sayeth... is formed by ex-Nikon engineers. Translation, they probably know how to make a good lens.
Further translation, I am jealous, just pass up one in Olympus OM mount going for crazy price on the bay.

i have just found that the lense stop down mechanism is broken - shows that a basic check is essential , even when buying from London Camera Exchange - a very reputable dealer . i was just too overexcited .
Any one know if it ca be fixed ?
