Went out this morning with my new-to-me PZ-1p, a F 35-70 and a roll of Fuji 400 color film. The light was meh being a grey January day with lots of clouds and even when there was some sun peaking through, it didn't show as I hoped it would. Still got a couple of interesting images and I know everything is working correctly. The matrix meter handled the snow reasonably well.

It's got a nice feel overall, though getting used to the shutter release under the front wheel takes a bit 😉 I was fortunate that it came with a printed manual so that made it easier to go through the 15 PFs and set them to my tastes (like leaving the leader out!) Other than that, it's an enjoyable camera to use. It was fun to use the 35-70 in a FF context too though it is nice as 52-105 on APS-C.

Personally I think it is the best AF Pentax ever made including the MZ-S. And it does not suffer from the broken mirror cogs either 👍
I'd heard that from a number of folks over at the Pentax Forum so chose to get one for that reason. I think it was a wise choice. They didn't mention the cogs - I am happy to hear that as it was something I wondered about.

I have a roll of XP2+ in it now 🙂

Do you have the add-on grip for it? I find the camera exceptionally comfortable in the hand with it; a tad awkward without. It's definitely more compact without, though. I need to shoot with mine some more. Loved it with the FA 31mm Limited.
