Arizona people from AZ

Andy,

A Saturday or Sunday in November works for me, except for the 11th and 12th. I'll be at PIR that weekend.

What works for you and others?

Ray

The I-17 and Glendale locations are better for me, but I imagine I can stretch myself over to Tempe if that works better for others.
Downtown can be a good spot to shoot. I'm not much of a street shooter, but I'm wanting to stretch in that direction. Most of the places I shoot/recommend are about landscapes. If you want to know how to keep the cacti off your butt and the snakes off your ankles, I'm your man. Unfortunately, that's more the DSLR stuff that I do. I'd like to do more "rangefinder appropriate" subjects. If that makes any sense at all.

Heck, if nothing else, a chance to have some coffee and show gear off would be fun. I've never seen so much of the gear that I've read about.

Andy,

Sedona will start getting colder here real soon. I did some work up there last Dec. It was nice but a little cold in the morning. I found my best light in the AM.

I would be up for something here local that we could do on a Sat or Sun. My wife is going in for Surgery on Nov 11th so I will not be available until the first part of Dec.

Mark

Why don't you guys have a walk-about on Van Buren Ave in Phoenix on a Sat. night from say 7th street to 19th Avenue? Should you survive you may have some interesting street shots. Unless of course things have changed since I lived in Arizona.

Wayne

Wayne, Van Buren is getting cleaned-up, slowly. The "interesting" scenery is being priced out by redevelopment.

Tentative Dates on the RF Calendar

Tentative Dates on the RF Calendar

Hi, I just posted a tentative set of Satudays from Nov 18 through Dec 16 on the RF calendar. Perhaps all interested members could post their date and locum preference on the appropriate date and then we decide based on total attendance?

The Calendar entry is public, so just go to Caledar Options / Edit, and you can add any text to the post (or a new post). If any trouble, we will have to ask Joe :)

LOL :) That sounds like a real adventure.

im totally down for a meetup...
anywhere really in phoenix would be cool, and either in november and december....

this honestly sounds like alot of fun!

I am originally a Phoenix native, now happily escaped.

Really, I've got nothing to contribute here but my best wishes to
all you desert folks but I just could not hold my water any longer
after reading about my old neighborhood, 7th & Van Buren.

Grew up at 7th & McKinley when Phx. Union High was the biggest in
the nation. My last visit in '97 taught me that you really can't go home again.
Most of the downtown of my memory is gone.

Good fortune to you all!

Let's put it on the Calendar

Let's put it on the Calendar

am i supposed to put this down in the calendar?
- that would be easiest. How about everyone make a NEW entry in the RFF Calendar with the Subject:

AZ RFF Meet

on the date he/she can attend. This way a volunteer (that be one of us AZ folk) can run through the Calendar in a week or so and announce the most popular date.

Is it safe to assume that we've pegged the location for Tempe by the lake? How about ~10am~lunch~2pm or so?

Every summer, I want to escape to cooler climates. But then every winter I ask myself why not stay another year :)

I'm not seeing anything on the calendar.
I should be available most weekends in November. The 18th may be a problem, but otherwise.....

Oops! I asked Joe to delete my own calendar post (which did not want to get deleted) and I think Joe went the extra step and deleted all events with "AZ RFF Meet" in the subject line...

Availability summary to date

Availability summary to date

Reading the thread from the beginning, this is what we have so far:

jamesj - Nov 18 works
dazedgonebye - Nov 18 no good
Mark Eggers - not until early December
Phoenix Phil - any weekend in November
akptc - any Nov weekend, any Dec weekend through Dec 16/17
Flinor -
Athena -
harmsr - any Sat/Sun in Nov except Nov 11 and 12
billbarber -
Oh Two -

It looks like some folks may have a conflict in November. How about we shoot for early December?

Dec 2 or 3
Dec 9 or 10

I am open either weekend.

There will always be conflicts with someone's schedule. If we wait for a month with no coflicts, this will never happen.
Please fell free to schedule on my possible conflict day (the 18th). I'd rather try to catch another get together than have them never happen at all.
