I sold my Canon 28/3.5. It was a sharp lens, and it was tiny, as you can see in Johan's posted image.

Johan, the Serenar looks really good!
Would love to see some images from it.

Here you are, Dave! I love this lens for it's contrast and sharpness. This was shot on cheap Kodacolor 200 film on holiday in Luxemburg, 2010.
A write-up on my lens (with interesting engraving on it) is here

Roland, the Perar wins the size battle hands down. If you want "small" then its the best choice. In terms of image quality, I'd rate the Avenon and Perar about equal.
Yeah, but one gets those bragging rights by sacrificing the flexibility of LTM mount, as well as considerable amount of ergonomics in setting the aperture and using caps, filters and hoods.
If I was in the market for a compact 28mm lens, I would just get a used CV 28/f3.5.
I fiddled with a 35 Perar, nice concept but ultimately 'fiddle' is the operative word...ergonomics were challenged to say the least. The 28 appears to be similarly compromised. I'm with others here, there are much better options. Vintage, I'd lean Nikkor, modern, 28/3.5 Skopar.
