...Long Live the Constant Moment.

First film was dead. Then rangefinders were dead. Then photography was dead. Not before SLRs became dead and "mirrorless" were here to stay.

I guess you could say that eloquence and the art of rhetoric are dead.

Let's make this a poll: do you agree with this obituary?

It's not dead to me.

But not before I make good use of it will anybody care about what I think!

And I'm not willing to commit to what any majority would decide on the subject either. I'll just go about my own funny ways.

:D

This sort of rhetoric of "such and such is dead" is just another facet of western contemporary consumer's discourse. This is dead so buy that one....

I think is exactly right, not to mention the link-bait headlines which are required for ad-driven revenue.

People who write articles for the internet are under lots of pressure to make
shytt up. A grabber title and a few punchy opening sentences and their job is done.

As long as we like to look at still photographs, the decisive moment will not be dead. That said, the decisive moment is not necessary all the time for good photographs.

Gabriel, I posted this yesterday.

Only the dead are dead. But if you walk down any major street in any major city, you'll notice that sometimes they forget to lie down.

There's nothing wrong with writing this sort of thing, if you're a rather silly person wanting to persuade other silly people that you are "cool", or whatever the current nonsense term is.

It's proof of something but not intelligent thought.

:D

Ok what about the Living Dead Decisive Moment is that dead or is that alive? If its a live will a head shot kill it?
